The newest talk in the Indian film business is that Director Shankar and 'KGF' actor Yash are collaborating on a 1000-crore film! Yes, you read that correctly! The big-budget picture is claimed to reflect Tamil filmmaker Shankar's desire to work with Yash on a larger scale. The film is based on the novel 'Velpaari,' and it is a historical drama.
Following the massive success of the KGF franchise, Yash's market has expanded beyond borders, and the whole industry is impatiently expecting his future film announcements. Shankar is currently working on 'Indian 2' with Kamal Haasan and RC15 with Ram Charan.
Though there were speculations about Shankar and Yash collaborating on a project, nothing was confirmed. According to reports, Shankar discovered the appropriate story for a film with Yash in the novel 'Velpaari.'
On the other hand, Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyan Selvan,' which is also based on the novel 'Ponniyan Selvan,' is set to be released on September 30. If the film becomes a hit, the passion for movies based on novels may resurface, which may make things easier for Shankar.
There is currently no formal word from anybody, so we will have to wait and watch when Shankar makes the official announcement after completing his current responsibilities.
