Sivakarthikeyan-starring movie "Prince" made its theatrical debut on this Diwali. It was the actor's first Diwali release. The movie's run was not easy since day one. It is due to the audience's mixed reactions.
On the eighth day of its release, "Prince" failed to collect over a crore from Tamil Nadu. The total worldwide collection of the Sivakarthikeyan starrer contained at 36.7 crores. The movie made Rs 10 crore at the box office on day 1 in India. From there, it steadily lost money. The total Tamilnadu collection stands at 23 crores. Total overseas collection is around 6.5 crores. Prince is moving towards a disaster in box office. The movie's failure lost Sivakarthikeyan the opportunity to have hat-trick blockbusters.
As per reviews, Sivakarthikeyan is the only positive of the movie. Fans of director Anudeep were dissatisfied because they anticipated a picture better than his previous effort, "Jathi Ratnalu". Fans were let down by his mediocre screenplay. Premgi Amaren and Maria Ryaboshapka both give their best performances in their respective roles. Composer Thaman gave the movie the necessary energy with his score.
As per the reports, Sardar is the Diwali winner from Kollywood.
