The Kochi police have detained Malayalam actor Sreenath Bhasi for allegedly verbally abusing a female journalist. The actor is charged with verbally abusing a lady journalist and the film crew while interviewing for his next movie Chattambi. After being called by the police for an investigation, he was taken into custody.
According to sources, the journalist, who worked for the online news outlet Behindwoods, reportedly graded his co-stars based on their rowdiness and posed a query about the title, which irked Bhasi. The entertainment portal soon uploaded a video recording of him indicating that he was angry and wanted to leave. In addition, he attacked the journalist and the crew and ordered them to turn off the camera. The crew said that Bhashi used foul language that was particularly offensive to women.
In a separate interview with a radio channel, the actor purportedly stated that Sreenath Bhasi verbally assaulted a male anchor after becoming agitated by the questioning. Due to the nature of our internet platform, we veer away from the normal hard news and instead concentrate on amusing queries to promote the film. They prefer asking us these types of silly questions when movie promotional teams come to visit. Thus, compared to other promotional videos, our videos are more animated, a YouTube channel staff member noted.
Mollywood fans love Sreenath Bhasi as an actor. His works include the movies Kappela, Home, Sumesh & Ramesh, and others. The first movie in which he had a solitary main role is Chattambi.
