Filmmaker Sukumar is arguably one of the finest in contemporary Tollywood. All his films tend to have a mix of emotions with intelligence. It actually means the audience needs to pay a little attention to what's happening on the screen rather than relaxing back and enjoying what he is seeing. Let it be 1- Nenokkadine, Nannaku Prematho, the attention is required to enjoy the flick. Beginning as an assistant director at 'Dil' Raju's SVC Production House, he assisted for a couple of films, along with 'Bommarillu' Bhaskar. He took up a chance to narrate a script Raju and immediately to Bunny who just made his debut. The film went on to become a blockbuster in the form of Arya. The film released today 16 years ago.
Then he made his cult classic 'Jagadam', about the influence of violence on the youth. He made 'Arya 2' & '100% Love', before his much-acclaimed psychological thriller '1-Nenokkadine', which performed poorly at the box-office, but went on to gain a huge following over the period. this film is one of the Indian films to have a high rating at IMDb. After that, he made Nannaku Preamtho with Jr NTR. a kind of a film for the star, who hasn't made such a film in his career before, the film has become a commercial success.
Then he paired-up with Ram Charan for 'Rangasthalam', which, needless to say, have become of the most successful film in the decade with record-breaking gross numbers at the box-office. All of this marks the 16 Years Journey of Sukumar into the film Industry.
