Suriya gets discharged after Covid-19 treatment

Actor Suriya was supposed to begin shooting for his upcoming film with director Pandiraj on February 15. However, it looks like the film's shooting will be postponed as the lead actor Suriya has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. On February 7, Suriya took to Twitter to reveal that he has contracted the virus and is undergoing treatment for the same. He wrote, "I am undergoing treatment for Covid-19 and am better now. Let us all realise that life hasn't returned to normalcy yet. We also cannot be filled with fear and let life come to a standstill. We still need to be careful and safe. Lots of love and gratitude to the dedicated doctors and medical staff standing by my side (sic)."

On February 11, Suriya's younger brother Karthi took to social media to announce that the Singam actor has been discharged from the hospital. He also added that Suriya is doing fine and will be in home quarantine for a few days. Karthi's tweet read, "Anna is back home and all safe! Will be in home quarantine for a few days. Can’t thank you all enough for the prayers and best wishes! (sic)."
