Suriya's Soorarai Pottru To Get A Hindi Reboot

Last year, Suriya took one of the biggest decisions of his career to release his film, Soorarai Pottru on Amazon prime Video. The film, which was meant for theatrical release, was released on OTT due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. As expected, Soorarai Pottru received overwhelming reviews and was appreciated by everyone. Almost after a year, Soorarai Pottru is all set to be remade in Hindi. Suriya took to social media to share the announcement. On July 12, Suriya announced that the Hindi version will also be directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad, who directed the original. The Tamil film was produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment along with Guneet Monga of Sikhya Entertainment.

Suriya's tweet read, "Excited to announce our association with @Abundantia_Ent lead by @vikramix for #SooraraiPottru in Hindi, Directed by #SudhaKongara (sic).” The cast and crew of the Soorarai Pottru Hindi version are yet to be announced. In a statement, Sudha said, "I was instantly drawn to the story of Soorarai Pottru, the story of Captain Gopinath, an adventurous maverick and an inspiring entrepreneur who epitomized the New India of the 90s. I'm grateful for all the love we have received so far and look forward to telling this unique and amazing story in Hindi."
