Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy
got into legal troubles yet again when the descendants of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy headed by Doravari Dastagiri Reddy knocked the court's door seeking to stay the release of the film.
The petitioners have sought Rs 20 crore as royalty from the film producers. As they came to know that it bases the film on Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy’s life and struggle.
In his petition, they claimed that Ram Charan
had signed an agreement with them to pay a huge sum for the story. But the Telangana High Court refused to stay the film’s release and asked them to sort this in Civil Court.
Further, the Court stated that it can solve such issues even after the film’s release. Also, the descendants demanded that the makers should arrange a preview screening of the film to them ahead of the film’s release to make sure that the facts not distorted.
The judges quashed it and stated that there is no law that a film should screen to the heirs before release. Since the makers stated that they have fictionalised a few parts in the film, they do not have to screen to the family before release.
