Twitter Users Slam Akshay Kumar For Disrespecting The Nation

Akshay Kumar, the actor, recently released a video on Twitter for an advertisement in which he was seen walking on a globe. Netizens were quick to point out that the actor was treading on the map of India in the video and chastised him for disrespecting the country.

Akshay was seen endorsing an international airline firm in a video posted to his social media pages.

The video announced a global tour that would begin in March. In the video, Akshay can be seen smiling and wandering around a digitally produced world. Disha Patani, Nora Fatehi, Mouni Roy, and Sonam Bajwa also appeared in the commercial. A section of Twitter users took offense against Akshay for walking on a map of India in the ad. A person wrote,

(Brother, please show some respect to our country.)" While another user said, "What a shameful and arrogant person… walking on India's map..." Another one said, "What do you want to achieve by doing this? Respect India." A user said,

Seriously. Who came with this idea to walk on map ? No matter how people want to distant themselves from these issues you movie folks keep doing these blatant mistakes which is responsible for the ire you guys are receiving.

Akshay will next feature in the film Selfiee. He will star alongside Emraan Hashmi, Nushratt Bharuccha, and Diana Penty. Selfiee, directed by Raj Mehta, will release in theatres on February 24. The first song from the film, Main Khiladi released last week. The song is a remix of Akshay Kumar's popular song Main Khiladi Tu Anari. Tanishk Bagchi recreated Main Khiladi, with original lyrics by Maya Govind and music by Anu Malik.
