Twinkle Khanna offers some humorous situations from her own life in her column about boredom and its consequences on real life, including one day when she was transformed after watching the trailer for Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan's film Messenger of God. The Dera Sacha Sauda members mistook her for a true fan of the cult. The said incident happened when she advised them to see the film in theatres on the opening day. She wore Ram Rahim's Love Charger T-shirts. As a result, her husband, actor Akshay Kumar, was questioned by a task team regarding their relationship.
Twinkle's piece is titled 'How boredom can lead you to love or the love charger.' It delightfully discusses how boredom can lead to some unusual behaviour. She gave the example of being bored one day and opting to spend some time browsing on her phone, where she discovered a movie trailer.
She wrote in the column, "I had just seen the trailer of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan’s Messenger of God. And I heard the iconic song, ‘You are the Love Charger. While also urging them to wear T-shirts emblazoned with the Love Charger’s face that could be bought online at that point for ₹375. Loads of people wrote back to me saying they would come with me to see the movie."
However, her 'promotion' resulted in her spouse being questioned about his relationship with Ram Rahim. She went on, "Because I was such a great devotee, members of the Dera Sacha Sauda began contacting me to arrange meetings with Ram Rahim. The pinnacle of this catastrophic tale was when a task team questioned my suffering partner about our relationship to the 'Godman'. They said that my tweet demonstrated that I was a devoted follower."
