Venkatesh Daggubati to star Asuran movie Telugu remake

Tamil film Asuran starring Dhanush, Manju Warrier has been receiving rave reviews from critics and audiences. The film, directed by Vetri Maaran spoke about the caste injustice and discrimination meted out to the people of Tirunelveli.

The film is now going to Tollywood as the Telugu remake rights purchased by Suresh Productions. Much to the surprise of fans, Daggubati Venkatesh got roped in to reprise Dhanush’s role in the Telugu remake.

Taking to Twitter, Suresh Productions wrote, “‪#VictoryVenkatesh is going to play the lead in Telugu version of #Asuran. The movie will be produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu and Suresh Babu and under V creations and Suresh Productions banners. (sic)”‬

‪In Asuran, Dhanush essays the role of a 53-year-old man who is a doting father to two youngsters. Venkatesh will be an apt choice for the role as he can easily play the younger version too.
