During his speech, Mahesh Babu recollected how Chiranjeevi stood as a huge inspiration to him in his entire career, at different levels. "Chiranjeevi garu called me after watching Okkadu and spoke to me in length. Later he visited me during the shoot of Arjun and congratulated me. He wished that I do more good movies. At the same time, he met me at Jagan's office after Pokiri and spoke to me about the film for two hours. He is the first person to make a phone call to me, to appreciate me every time." said Mahesh Babu, adding, "In a similar manner, I am now going to wait for his phone call on 11th January, on the release of Sarileru Neekevvaru."
