With consecutive hits, Ayushmann Khurrana's Bollywood career has surely taken a huge leap. This year the actor already gave 2 hits, Article 15 and Dream Girl. One was critically acclaimed and the other was a commercial hit. With his amazing acting chops and brilliant script selecting talent, the fans were eagerly waiting for Aayushman's third film of the year Bala.
The film has already been in the headlines for different reasons but after the special screening of the film on 7th November, the film is making headlines for all the good reasons. The public loves the film and this too will be a must-watch for the weekend.
Bala is the story of a man living in Kanpur who is suffering from alopecia, and the story is about his lack of confidence and the societal pressure that comes with balding. Bhumi Pednekar, Yami Gautam, Javed Jaffrey, and Saurabh Shukla featured in supporting roles. The film deals with different social stigmas built around the concept of "beauty". The story is very real and relatable and you realize that there is a Bala in each one of us, just with a different reason.
Bala tries to portray an everyday life problem with a lot of ease and precision. It shows how deep down we all worry about something that we lack in ourselves, but at the same time portrays a satirical take on society.
The film is fun in the first half but might get a little preachy and boring in the second half. Acting-wise everyone has done a brilliant job.
Verdict: Overall Bala is a light-hearted film that sends a deep message to society. A good watch and family entertainer.
