Hit is the story of a middle-aged police officer named Vikram Rudhraraju, who gets assigned to solve the missing girl named Preethi. Vikram has to solve a lot of puzzles to find Preethi. Meanwhile, he also has to deal with his unstable mental condition due to a traumatic past. Will Vikram find Preethi? How will he able to solve the case? What happened in Vikram's past? forms the main crux of this film.
Hero Vishwak Sen remained as the heart and soul of this film. Many people questioned his talent but this film will be an answer to all his critics. Vishwak showed how capable he is, through this movie. Heroine Ruhani Sharma also gave another commendable performance, after impressing in her first film Chi La Sow. Murali Sharma was apt as the police officer. Rest others did their parts well.
The main positive of this film is the story. Rarely we see gripping thrillers in the Telugu film industry and Hit is once such film. It is an out-and-out thriller without any deviations like songs and comedy track. Director Sailesh Kolanu has packed the film with a tight screenplay which will make the audience glued to their seats. Next up is the cinematography by S. Manikandan. He did a fantastic job of bringing out superb visuals. Music director Vivek Sagar also gave a scintillating background score which sets the mood of the film. Both of these technicians should get credit for taking this film to the next level. The productions values were also very good.
Though director managed to maintain the suspense throughout the runtime, he tried to manipulate the viewers with a few loose ends. Those loose ends seem illogical. A few lag scenes in the second half might distract the audience. The climax twist might not satisfy all sections of the audience.
Hit starts off on point without wasting any time. The first half progresses with hinting various clues which remain unsolved. The second half is all about how the protagonist solves the case with all those clues. We have seen many thrillers in the past, but only a few of them end up as genuine and memorable one. Hit is one among them. In spite of a few flaws, Hit manages to strike right chords with the audience. A definite Hit at the box office.
