Taxiwaala Review

Vijay Devarakonda who has become a happening hero off late faced a debate with his last outing NOTA. He is now back with Taxiwaala which was in the making for a long time and is finally hitting the screens today.

Shiva(Vijay Devarakonda) is a jobless guy who comes to his friend's garage in search of a job. He works in a couple of jobs but finds them uninteresting. And then he comes across this idea to become a taxi driver and buys a car with the help of his brother's money. He meets the heroine in this taxi and they fall in love and at this point, he starts experiencing weird things in his taxi and he soon realizes there is an unfolded story attached to it. Where will this taxi lead him to? And how does he solves all the problems forms the rest of the story.

Taxiwaala Performances

Vijay Devarakonda looked very cool as usual and he is at his natural best as cabbie shiva and does his part effortlessly within his limitations. Debutant Priyanka Jawalkar has a very limited role to play and she does well. Malavika Nair in the flashback portions has got a crucial role and she does well. Comedians Madhu and Chammak Chandra are entertaining while the guy who did Hollywood role is hilarious with his one-liners. Others have minimal roles and have done their part accordingly

Taxiwaala Technical Aspects

Music and BGM by Jakes Bejoy are good. Visuals by Sreejith Sarang are decent and are according to the mood of the film and set the tone perfectly. Editing is good while the production values by SKN are decent.

Taxiwaala Analysis

Director Rahul Sankrityan chooses a horror plot line and has added a science fictional twist to it to make it more appealing instead of sticking to the horror genre. He has narrated it very convincingly for the most part keeping the viewers engaged. The movie starts off in an entertaining way and quickly moves onto the main plot and continues to be fun ride till post interval. Once the fictional part comes in, the narration becomes tad slow and it only goes down from there. The fictional element looks a bit dragged and could have been even more convincing towards the pre-climax and climax portions. Maate Vinadhuga song and the comedy one-liners along with Vijay's presence entertain us big time.

Taxiwaala Verdict

On the whole, Taxiwaala is a content-driven movie narrated in a very entertaining manner. Although the narration is uneven at times because of its fictional content, the comedy part makes this movie entertaining. Keep your expectations in check and you are in for a good entertainer this weekend.
