Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa announced ₹10 lakh relief each to the families of victims who died in Mangaluru during the anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act protest.
The two persons died following the bullet injuries they sustained in police firing during the protest. The police have also mentioned their names in the FIR registered in connection with the violence that erupted during protests.
According to CMO, the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district directed to immediately provide relief to the families. Jaleel (42) and Nauseen (23) had killed as police opened after the CAA protests turned violent on Thursday in the city.
Yediyurappa had visited the port city on Saturday to take stock of the situation. They will take a decision to investigate the causes of the rioting soon, he said.
