25-year-old mechanical engineer Chandrani to become youngest MP ever!
BJD's Chandrani Murmu, a 25-year-old mechanical engineer who won Odisha's reserved Keonjhar seat by defeating two-time BJP MP Ananta Nayak, will become the youngest member in Lok Sabha history.
This graduated lady, Chandrani Murmu will step into the hallowed halls of the Parliament from tribal-dominated Keonjhar. This is something to look at as a young lady from the reserved community is going to the Parliament to represent her people from a less developed such as Odisha. Now, politics has become everyone’s cup of tea.
Chandrani won the seat by 66,203 votes. She will replace JJP founder Dushyant Chautala, who had become the youngest parliamentarian at 26 after being elected to 16th Lok Sabha from Hisar.
Chandrani was a surprise choice by BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik in this election. “I was in search of a job after completing my engineering degree from a private college in Bhubaneswar. My nomination was unexpected. I am grateful to BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for giving me the opportunity and keeping faith on me,” she said.
