Twenty-seven college students from Chennai got arrested and sent to jail for allegedly trying to intimidate witnesses in a murder trial by staring at them. They'd come to Tiruvallur on the request of their classmate, whose cousin is among two men accused of murdering a brick kiln owner in 2018. A witness had alerted police about their presence in court.
Those arrested included first and second-year students of the Nandanam Government Arts and Science College in Chennai and they were trying to help their classmate who is a cousin of two men accused in the murder case.
According to the police, the students got mobilized by the accused and were trying to scare the witnesses in a murder case in a move that seems to have inspired by actor Dhanush's latest movie 'Asuran'.
