3 Swiggy delivery boys in Chennai beat up customer after he complaints about delay

Police have detained five men, including three Swiggy delivery boys, in Chennai for allegedly attacking a 42-year-old customer after he complained the online service about a delay in delivery.

 
According to the police reports, R. Balaji a 42-year-old has ordered food via Swiggy on Sunday at around 8 PM. But the food delivery got delayed and Balaji raised a complaint in Customer care. After an hour the delivery executive came and delivered the food.
 
The delivery agent, D Rajesh Kanna, 20 a resident of Saligramam assigned to the customer got into a fight with him, following which the former called his colleagues who are reportedly in the same locality and beat the customer up. The customer was allegedly drunk.
 
In the investigation, Rajesh Kanna was unwell, he took his father Dhanasekaran, 52 along with him to deliver the order. The detained got identified as Dhanasekaran, Rajesh Kanna who joined Swiggy last month, I Sreenivasan, 19 first-year students of Nandanam arts College, Jaya Surya, 19 and P Mathiyalagan, 21, both have been working as a delivery agent for the last four months.
 
Balaji, also claimed that he lost his ten sovereigns gold chain during the fight. The police are further investigating the case.
