One after another, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy after coming to power, had been implementing many of the promises he made during the polls. Now, once again he had come up with one more implementation. For the creation of more employment opportunities to the people of AP, Jagan had taken a firm decision.
In the assembly, The AP Employment of Local Candidates in Industries/Factories Act, 2019 was introduced and also passed as well. In joint ventures, industrial units and factories, 75 percent of private jobs are guaranteed by the new law.
For all those projects which are happening in the public-private partnership model, this rule applies. Even if the companies are getting any financial or other assistance from the governing or not, they need to follow this rule.
If in case locals don't have the necessary skills in order to be placed in a company, then they might have to train those aspirants in association with state government and then must hire them. This is to ensure that the companies make no excuses like unavailability of skilled labour.
Also the deadline for the companies to comply with the provisions of law is 3 years from now. To a nodal agency, the companies must submit quarterly reports mentioning the percentage of locals in their company.
