Mysuru in Karnataka is very well known for their unique way of celebrating the Dusshera. This city holds the biggest gathering in the entire country for this auspicious festival. After that Mysuru Dasara, the official state festival of Karnataka is a 10-day festival that begins with Navratri and concludes on Vijayadashmi. 

 
During Dusshera celebrations in Mysuru, a competition held especially for women. How many idlis can you eat in a minute? This 60-year-old woman who ate six idlis in just 60 seconds secured the first prize in an idli competition held in Mysuru. The competition held on the occasion of Mysuru Dasara on Tuesday. Sarojamma (60), who is a resident of Hallahalli, gulped down 6 idlis to win the competition.
 
Proddatur in Kadapa district, considered as the second biggest town in grandness to celebrate the Dusshera festival. Another major attraction is the Dasara exhibition is the exhibition grounds which held opposite to the Mysuru Palace .The Dasara festival in Mysuru began as early as the 15th century. On a ninth day Mahanavmi, the royal sword is worshipped and taken on a procession involving elephants, camels, and horses.
