A Railway ticket checker collects record ₹1.5 Crore fine from passengers in 2019

How many times have you paid the fine in a railway compartment for any false practice? If you ever did, would you give a thought that a T.C can collect 1 crore rupees from people like you in a year? Better you start thinking like that. This ticket collector from Central Railways astonished the whole country with his dedication, determination, and sincerity towards his job.

Traveling Ticket Inspectors have the authority to collect fines from ticketless passengers on both local and long-distance trains. Ticket collector SB Galande, part of the Central Railway (CR) Flying Squad, caught 22,680 ticketless passengers in 2019 and collected ₹1.51-crore fine from them. With this, he became the highest individual revenue earner for Central Railway last year.

Three other ticket collectors of the Central Railway also collected over ₹1 crore each in fines from ticketless commuters in 2019. They include M M Shinde and D Kumar, also from the same squad and Ravi Kumar G, chief ticket inspector of Mumbai division.
