AAP releases the list of candidates, Kejriwal to contest from Delhi, sitting MLA resigns

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released the list of candidates for the 70-seat Delhi Assembly elections. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will fight the elections from New Delhi. Eyeing his third consecutive win in assembly polls, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will be contesting the 2020 election from the New Delhi constituency seat.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will contest from Patparganj. Further, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain and Atishi will contest the elections from Shakur Basti and Kalkaji respectively.

Sitting AAP MLA from Badarpur ND Sharma on Tuesday said that he has resigned from the party and accused party leaders, Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia of taking ₹20 crores for giving the election ticket to a "land mafia".

The AAP is fielding former Congress leader Ram Singh Netaji, who joined the party on Monday, from Badarpur in Assembly elections. Sharma further said he would contest the upcoming polls but did not disclose if he would join another party or fight independently.

The AAP on Twitter wrote, "Aam Aadmi Party declares all 70 candidates for the upcoming Delhi election. We congratulate all the candidates and wish them all the best to establish high levels of trust and integrity within their constituency."
