According to the CID, which has investigated the irregular land sales in the Amaravati region, it says that many leaders have got benefitted financially in the land polling process in Amaravati. We all know that the CID has been looking at the records related to 4,000 acres in the region. It alleged that these lands got sold at a cheaper price to some of the leaders.
 
They said that, certain influential individuals had procured land through illegal transactions and that they are also probing on the findings stating that the boundary of the capital area was also changed to benefit particularly some people who had lands on the fringes. Some trusted sources said that another thing had probed is the fraudulent surrender of Lanka (river island), Poramboke, government lands towards the LPS scheme to receive returnable plots.
 
According to the investigating officer, lands bought at nominal rates from the farmers just before the notification of the capital as seen in the records. He added that the investigation found that, 2,279.91 acres got purchased in the mandals of the Guntur district while 1,790 acres purchased in the mandals of Krishna district.
