AP CM Jagan receives an appraisal from the Vice President for Disha Bill

Venkaiah Naidu Vice President of India has praised the Jagan government over making the Disha Act. The AP assembly unanimously passing the Disha bill to eradicate the sexual harassment of women is a great initiative.

 
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu congratulated the AP government for passing this AP Disha act. Venkaiah Naidu took to twitter and posted "Happy to note that Andhra Pradesh Assembly has unanimously passed AP Disha Act to speed up investigations and trial of sexual offenses against women. If implemented well, the Act can render timely justice to rape victims which is the need of the hour. I compliment the AP Government."
 
This comes after a Hyderabad Veterinarian doctor was gang-raped by a group of truck drivers near the Shamshabad Tollgate and was burnt alive. However, the four got encountered by the Telangana Police under some dramatic conditions.
 
Under this new act, the accused person will get prosecuted through the fast track courts which will be set up in each and every district and the convicted will get sentenced to death within 21 days if he got declared guilty with adequate evidence.
