BJP MLA caught on camera kicking woman!
Gujarat BJP MLA Balram Thawani was caught on camera thrashing a woman NCP leader in public near his office on Sunday after she demanded the restoration of water connection in the area. Thawani alleged some men hit him first and added he had "no intention" to thrash her. "I got swayed by emotions, I accept the mistake...I'll say sorry," he said.
Earlier in the day, MLA Thawani told that he would not apologize over the incident as the woman "was at fault" and alleged that her husband had hit him first inside his office. After facing massive backlash as the video went viral, Naroda MLA Balram Thawani made a reluctant apology on Monday but not before making an attempt to defend his condemnable actions.
In his outrageous defense, MLA Bhawani had claimed that he had hit the woman "in the heat of the moment", that he was "not aware" that the victim was " a woman" and that he had lost his cool as "he had been attacked first."
However, the situation turned ugly when the BJP MLA joined another man in assaulting and kicking the woman on the street. In the video, Thawani can be seen stepping out of his office and then proceeding to kick and thrash the woman who is already under attack by another man whose back is turned towards the camera.
Later, NCP leader who was kicked by the MLA tied a rakhi to BJP MLA from Gujarat's Naroda, Balram Thawani, who assaulted her in public. "He (Thawani) said that I am like a sister to him and that he didn't have any bad intentions when he slapped me. I too now consider him my brother and we've resolved the matter among us," she said.
