The government's meeting with members of the film industry on Sunday, to discuss CAA had attended by actors Ranvir Shorey and Urvashi Rautela. Censor Board chief Prasoon Joshi, filmmakers Rahul Rawail and Kunal Kohli and producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Bhushan Kumar were also among the attendees. The meeting had organized at a Mumbai five-star hotel and was an invitation-only affair.
Though according to reports, several high profile members from the industry including Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar, Kabir Khan, and Siddharth Roy Kapur got invited for the discussion, none of them turned up.
Kailash Kher (Singer), Prasoon Joshi (Lyricist, Writer, Chairperson CBFC) and Abhishek Kapoor are the other prominent persons who attended the meeting.
This is the invitation that had sent out to members of the film industry on behalf of Minister of Railways and Commerce, Piyush Goyal and National Vice President of BJP, Baijayant Jay Panda.
With none of the Hindi film industry’s big players showing up, except the head of T-series, Bhushan Kumar and a blink-and-you-miss-it appearance by Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment, the government’s attempt to gather a show of strength from Bollywood appears to have been a flop show.
