Bumrah sustains spine fracture, ruled out of Test series vs South Africa

Team India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of the upcoming home Test series against South Africa. Bumrah has sustained a minor stress fracture in his lower back. The 25-year-old fast bowler has replaced by Umesh Yadav in the squad. Bumrah, who has played 12 Test matches, is yet to play a Test match on home soil.

After ruled out of the Test series against South Africa following a stress fracture, Jasprit Bumrah tweeted "Injuries are part & parcel of the sport. Thank you for all your recovery wishes." "My head is held high & I am aiming for a comeback that’s stronger than the setback," he added.

This is a mighty blow for Team India not only for this test series but also for their future prospects as well. The team India has to head to Australia in 2020 for T20 World Cup where Bumrah is so crucial. Also, they have Test Championship for the next 20 months where Bumrah has to lead the pace attack in the longer format.

A stress fracture in the spine is not at all a good news for the management and if they act in his injury. It will definitely affect the rhythm of this ace pacer in the world. So, Bumrah has to wait for a few more days to make his test debut in sub-continent.
