David Warner recalls Virender Sehwag’s help in his first triple century

Australia’s dynamic opener David Warner is a fighting cricketer who had a tough time in the last 20 months. After the Sand Paper issue, he worked hard to make a strong comeback. After a decent World Cup, this Ashes series is the worst nightmare for this New South Wales cricketer. But he gathered his form like a dream in the ongoing test series against Australia and is scoring tins of runs with ease.

Australia opener David Warner, who slammed 335* against Pakistan in Day-Night Test, revealed that ex-India opener Virender Sehwag told him during IPL 2009 that he'll be a better Test player than T20 player. He reminisced what transpired during a chat with Sehwag during their time together at Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League when Warner was yet to properly find his feet in international cricket.

"I said to him, 'You're out of your mind'," Warner added. "Sehwag said, 'You can get off to a flier and sit there all day'," Warner stated. In only his fourth innings, against New Zealand, Warner smashed an unbeaten 123, and has since notched up 23 Test tons, and has scored just a shade under 7000 runs.
