After Vallabhaneni Vamsi’s resignation, the Gannavaram constituency is all set for By Polls. As Vallabhaneni Vamsi resigned to TDP and Gannavaram MLA and is all set to join YCP, the by-election in Gannavaram looks imminent.
Now, the debates over these polls have started, and it is being buzzed that Nara Lokesh who lost in Mangalagiri is in fray for this seat. As Pawan Kalyan had lost in both Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram Assembly constituencies, Janasena’s leaders want him to contest from Gannavaram’s seat.
Interestingly, YCP candidate Yarlagadda Venkat Rao had lost the MLA post in the hands of Vamsi with a meager margin of 838 votes. Now, Jagan has to re-think to give the ticket for Vallabhaneni if both Pawan and Nara Lokesh are on cards.
On the other side, it also clarifies everyone’s speculation about the secret alliance between Janasena and TDP. In 2019 election, 1,03,881 votes (47.07 percent) polled for TDP’s Vallabhaneni Vamsi whereas 1,03,043 votes (46.69 percent) polled for YCP’s Yarlagadda. It needs to see what is TDP’s plan-B as Gannavaram has been TDP’s bastion. Will TDP and Janasena contest with the coalition in by-poll? Let’s see.
