The Chief Minister also directed Chief Secretary LV Subramanyam to accord State honours to former TDP leader during funeral rites to be held in his home town Narsaraopeta in Guntur district. As Kodela was the first Speaker of the newly formed Andhra Pradesh, the government has decided to accord him the honour.
To make all the arrangements for the last rites of the Former Speaker, instructions have been forwarded from the CMO. Until Tuesday evening, Kodela's Body was placed at the Party Office in Guntur. In the night, Mortal-Remains of Kodela reached Narsaraopeta.
On Wednesday, at his native place, Last Rites would be performed. Kodela Siva Prasad Rao who's political career lasted for 36 years and served as MLA 6 times, had been a 3-time Minister and Speaker has been offered due respect by Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy even after TDP had politicized this issue.
But here comes another twist as Kodela’s family members denied the state honours as offered by the Chief Minister. They declined state honours and have decided to perform the funeral rites in their own way. This is evidence that they still believe that the ruling party is responsible for Kodela’s suicide.
In order to maintain the law and order, Section 144 was imposed in Narsaraopet. If TDP Activists get carried away believing various speculations over the death of Kodela, tension might exaggerate, which is why such a decision is taken.
