Politics in Maharashtra took a completely new turn on Tuesday after the Supreme Court ordered floor test in the Maharashtra assembly. Now Uddhav Thackeray will be sworn-in as the chief minister of Maharashtra after the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress alliance declared him their leader. The pro-tem speaker has started administering an oath to 288 newly elected members in the Maharashtra assembly today.
NCP leader Ajit Pawar, greeted with thumping of desks by the party members when he went to the podium to take oath in the Maharashtra Assembly on Wednesday. After taking oath as an MLA, Ajit Pawar says, "I have already said that I was with NCP and I am with NCP. Have they expelled me? Have you heard or read this anywhere? I am still with NCP."
This comes after Ajit resigned as the Deputy CM. "We're happy that Ajit Pawar has come back...He is a part of NCP," MLA and Sharad Pawar's grand-nephew Rohit Pawar said. "I have nothing to say (right now), I will speak at the right time." "I am in the NCP and I will remain in the NCP. There is no reason to create confusion," he added.
