Twelve Mirage 2000 jets of the Indian Air Force are said to have crossed the Line of Control and destroyed a major terrorist camp, the ANI news agency reported on Tuesday morning, quoting an IAF source.
There has been no official confirmation of this cross-LoC air raid by the IAF or the Defence Ministry so far.
Earlier, the Pakistani military spokesman Asif Ghafoor said in a tweet that “Indian aircrafts intruded from Muzaffarabad sector. Facing timely and effective response from Pakistan Air Force released payload in haste while escaping which fell near Balakot. No casualties or damage.”
12 Mirage 2000 jets dropped 1,000 kg bombs on the terror camp, completely destroying it, news agency ANI reported, quoting Air Force sources.
Terror launch pads in Balakot, Chakothi, and Muzaffarabad across the Line of Control were destroyed by the laser-guided bombs and so were the control rooms of the Jaish, reported ANI.
The Air Force has put on high alert all air defense systems along the international border and the Line of Control, the news agency reported.
