Well, online booking of trains has become a major problem these days with the rapid increase in population even technology couldn’t do much.
The Indian Railways have now enabled QR code-based paperless ticket booking at 12 stations of the North Western Railway (NWR) zone. The stations are Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Abu Road, Udaipur City, Durgapura, Alwar, Rewari, Sanganer, Lalgarh and Gandhinagar.
“Passengers can get their tickets with ease after scanning the QR code issued at the mentioned stations, by using the UTS app on mobile,” an NWR official said. Travellers can book unreserved tickets at the last minute using the app.
From now on, passengers can get paperless unreserved mobile tickets at 12 important stations. The users can book the tickets via the UTS application and select QR booking. NPCI has approved a proposal to give tax incentives on QR-based transactions by next year. With this app, it will be convenient for passengers who book tickets at the last minute.
The users can book the tickets via the UTS application and select QR booking in the ‘book ticket’ menu. They can then scan the QR code provided at the station premises. Selecting a destination and other required fields can complete the booking. This upcoming feature is available all over india in few days.
