IPL 2021: CSK thrash Hyderabad to reclaim top spot
SunRisers Hyderabad’s woeful performance in the Indian Premier League has resulted in the team being placed at the bottom of the points table with just one solitary win. The men in orange bowed to a far superior Chennai Super Kings side in yesterday’s encounter.

After a sluggish start, SRH posted 171 runs on the board, thanks to a brilliant cameo from Kane Williamson who was ably supported by Kedar Jadhav. The total just wasn’t enough to intimidate the in-form CSK side who made small work of the run chase.
Rituraj Gaikwad played some delightful strokes to give CSK a super positive start and at the other end, Faf du Plessis continued his sublime form, scoring his 3rd consecutive half-century. The former was awarded the man of the match award for his brilliant 75 off 44.
Rashid Khan was the pick of the lot with 3 wickets for SRH but his efforts paid very little dividends as the rest of the bowling department simply couldn’t assert enough pressure on the opposition.
David Warner took full responsibility for the defeat and admitted his slow-paced innings is the main reason why his side couldn’t post a good target. The chances of SRH making it to the playoffs this year are astronomically bleak now.
Chennai now reclaims the top spot on the table with this commanding victory over SunRisers.
