IPL 2021: CSK thrash Rajasthan Royals to move to second place

Chennai Super Kings beat Rajasthan Royals by a big margin of 45 runs, courtesy of a humiliating collapse from the Sanju Samson-led side in the second innings.

Chennai posted 188 on the board in the first innings, thanks to brilliant contributions from Moeen Ali, Rayudu, Bravo, and Sam Curran. Rajasthan Royals got off to an okayish start with Buttler doing the bulk of the scoring in the second innings. Once his wicket fell, it was more like a procession and Rajasthan lost 5 wickets in under 4 overs. Moeen Ali bowled 2 overs and picked up 3 wickets, breaking the backbone of the run chase.

With this comprehensive victory against Rajasthan Royals, Chennai move to second position on the points table with 4 points.

Chennai Super Kings now look like a force to reckon with. All their big guns are firing at the right time and they are slowly reaching their usual best standard.

Mumbai Indians will be taking on Delhi Capitals in tomorrow’s crunch encounter. It will be kicking off at 7:30 PM. The winner of this game will be moving to the top of the table.
