Iran’s missile forces heightened state of alert after Trump’s warning

The US has detected a heightened state of alert by Iran's missile forces across the country, according to a Reuters report quoting a US official. This comes after US President Donald Trump's warning to hit 52 Iranian sites very hard". "Don't know if that heightened state of alert is to be better prepared defensively or offensively," the official reportedly said.

US President Donald Trump on Sunday tweeted, "Let this serve as a warning that if Iran strikes any Americans or American assets, we have targeted 52 Iranian sites."

Notably, there is a reason behind Trump’s statement which specifically targets the 52 Iranian territories. It is more political and vengeful than it seems. The reason behind Trump threatening to specifically hit 52 Iranian sites was that Iran had held 52 Americans hostage 40 years ago. The Americans held hostage for 444 days.
