Jagan hit it hard this time! Orders CBI/CID investigation on Amaravati scam

Earlier, last month, the Andhra Pradesh government has given permission for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the graft cases lodged against the central government employees earlier.

 
Now, the AP cabinet meeting in today’s meeting has concluded and the state government has decided to go for a thorough investigation into the allegations of Insider-Trading of Amaravati lands. In this meeting, CM YS Jagan informed the cabinet that it is not possible to build construct with thousands of crore Rupees and Vizag can get made with just ten percent of Amaravati estimates but there is no rush to shift the capital immediately.
 
The inquiry will be on the land purchases happened before December 31st, 2014 and we have identified who all have bought lands. YSRCP is deliberate to go for investigation with CBI or Loka Yukta or CID. A final call on this will get taken soon based on the expert's committee advise.
 
The media is also reporting that the cabinet sub-committee has details of 4000 acres of land purchases that happened and many TDP leaders' names are in the report.
 
On November 8, 2018, the ruling Telugu Desam Party had issued a government order (GO) withdrawing the general consent accorded to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to carry out investigations and raids in the state.
 
The YSR Congress Party that assumed power on May 30, issued a fresh order Thursday canceling the GO 176 issued on November 8 under which The CBI will now have all powers to take up corruption and other cases in AP. The premier investigative agency functions under the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act.
