Jagan orders inquiry as Naidu spent Rs 39 cr on foreign trips
One after one, Jagan had ordered one more inquiry on former Chief Minister of AP, Nara Chandra Babu Naidu. This over Naidu for wasting 39 crores of public money on his foreign trips in his regime. Industries Minister, Mekapati Gautam Reddy had informed the legislative assembly that Babu, his family and other officials with Babu have enjoyed foreign tours with public money saying that they were going to bring investors to India.
However, he alleged that these trips had no use at all. He added that a cabinet sub-committee has already been set up for the inquiries. Responding to these allegations, Babu, who was present there at that time said, "I worked every day from morning 7 am till night 11 pm to develop AP. My foreign visits were aimed to build 'brand AP' and attract investments. I could attract lakhs of crores of rupees of investments globally into AP in the last five years. I could develop goodwill for AP among national and international investors with my foreign trips.”
Naidu even said that if 39 crores were wasted, then what about Modi who spent thousands of crores to cost foreign countries. According to him, spending 39 crores of public money on his foreign trips wasn’t anything wrong.
