Once, the AP Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy announced that his team is considering having 3 capitals for Andhra Pradesh which falls under the concept, 'decentralization'. On this, the other political parties in AP gave their opinions out and here are some of them.
AP BJP President Kanna Lakshminarayana has strongly opposed the decision of AP CM Jagan to have three capital cities in the state for the decentralization of power. He said that under any circumstances the BJP party will not accept the separation of the seat of administration and legislature.
He said the decision to set up the Legislative Assembly and Secretariat at two different places is mad. That sort of policy will destroy the overall interests of the state largely.
Some leaders from BJP and TDP have also extended their support in this regard. Leaders like MLA Ganta Srinivas Rao, BJP Rajya Sabha member TG Venkatesh have welcomed the historic decision.
Lok Satta supremo, former MLA Jayaprakash Narayan has also welcomed this decision and lauded Jagan for this. Interestingly, for the first time, Jayaprakash Narayan has welcomed the government's decisions. We cannot find fault with the idea to decentralize the power in the state.
Meanwhile, Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu has questioned how the three capitals plan will work. “Where will the Chief Minister reside, will he be here (in Amaravati) or in Visakhapatnam? Will two residences be constructed? Tomorrow, he will construct one in Idupulapaya (in Kadapa) to be in Kurnool. These are all very bad decisions, it looks like even Tuglaq rule may have been a little better than this,” Naidu said.
