KCR invites Jagan for Kaleshwaram Project’s inauguration
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao met his Andhra Pradesh counterpart YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday and invited him to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project on June 21.
KCR arrived Vijayawada in the afternoon and offered prayers at the Kanaka Durga Temple. Then, he left for YS Jagan’s residence in Tadepalli in Andhra Pradesh capital region Amaravati
KCR had lunch at Jagan's residence and the two reportedly discussed pending issues between the two states as a result of the bifurcation including division of electricity employees and public sector undertakings, water disputes among others in the two-hour long meeting.
Post the assembly results, the bonding between these two neighbourhood Chief Minister’s bound much tighter. KCR had recently visited Vijayawada for Jagan’s swearing-in as the Chief Minister ceremony on May 30.
The Kaleshwaram project, which was built on the Godavari project, is expected to change the Face of Telangana. The project would be able to supply sufficient water to grow two crops a year in 45 lakh acres of land in 16 districts.
