Maharashtra Turmoil: Floor test to be conducted tomorrow

The Supreme Court amid the political crisis in Maharashtra has said that floor test must happen in the state Assembly on November 27. The Supreme Court ordered the Devendra Fadnavis-Ajit Pawar government to prove the majority in a floor test. The trust vote in the Maharashtra Assembly will hold without a secret ballot and the proceedings must be live telecast, the apex court directed.

The top court had earlier said, "The question today is whether CM Devendra Fadnavis enjoys a majority in the House or not." On Monday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Lok Sabha said they murdered democracy in Maharashtra.

The floor test will get completed by 5:00 pm on Wednesday. SC also ordered the immediate appointment of a pro-tem speaker. After the court orders, the leader of opposition in the center, Sonia Gandhi expressed her confidence in gaining power in the floor test. “We will win the floor test,” said Congress interim chief Sonia Gandhi. Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut tweeted, "Satyamev Jayate" after the Supreme Court order in Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, Jayant Patil has appointed as NCP whip by the party. We are aware that BJP govt had propped up by NCP’s Ajit Pawar who revolted against his party headed by his uncle Sharad Pawar.
