After BJP's Devendra Fadnavis and NCP's Ajit Pawar took oath as Maharashtra's Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister respectively, PM Narendra Modi congratulated them. "I'm confident they will work diligently for the bright future of Maharashtra," tweeted PM Modi.
"People had given a clear mandate. Shiv Sena rejected it," CM Fadnavis said after taking the oath. Also, Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated BJP's Devendra Fadnavis and NCP's Ajit Pawar on swearing-in as Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, respectively.
"I'm confident this government will be continuously committed to the development and welfare of Maharashtra and will set new standards of progress," Shah tweeted. "I'm confident they'll work diligently," said PM Modi.
After taking oath as the Maharashtra Chief Minister, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis said, "Maharashtra needed a stable government, not a 'khichdi' government." "People had given us a clear mandate, but Shiv Sena tried to ally with other parties after results, as a result, President's rule was imposed," he added.
NCP leader Ajit Pawar took oath as Deputy CM. BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the Maharashtra CM for the second term. Ajit said, "From result day, no party was able to form the government...so we decided to form a stable government." Earlier, NCP-Shiv Sena-Congress were in talks to form the government.
