On the eve of 74th Independence Day, PM Narendra Modi addressed the nation from ramparts of Red Fort. The prime minister talked about the hard work of the scientists for the production of the vaccine.
"Today in India, not one, or two but three vaccines are in the stage of testing. As soon as there is a green signal from scientists, the country is prepared to produce it in large numbers," he said in his 90 min address to the country.
PM Modi commenced his speech with tributes to the COVID frontline warriors. “I bow down to all the Corona warriors who are putting up a brave fight in these times of crisis. In these times of COVID, Corona warriors have lived the mantra of ‘Seva Parmo Dharma’ and served the people of India,” he said.
Adding to his speech, The Prime Minister stressed on Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He spoke about the resolve taken by 130 crore Indians to be self-reliant, and how a dream has turned into a pledge. In recent times the concept of Aatmanirbhar is coveted as a ‘mantra’.
The entire world, including India, is crumbling due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As of today, India stands as the third-worst affected country in the world. 2.45 million Indians are infected by Coronavirus until now and the number is on a constant rise.
