Rahul and Mamata decide to resign but rejected by their parties!
After the humiliation defeat of the Mamta Banerjee's TMC and Rahul Gandhi’s Indian National Congress along with with the lefties by the BJP, both the party chief’s decision to resign as the presidents of their respective parties taking the onus of the defeat on their shoulders. But both party members rejected their resignations.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, during a press conference, said that Rahul Gandhi offered his resignation as party president but it was rejected unanimously by the Congress Working Committee (CWC) members. The CWC said that the party needs his leadership and guidance in these "challenging times". The committee has authorised Rahul Gandhi to restructure the party, Surjewala added.
After BJP won 18 out of the 42 constituencies in West Bengal in 17th Lok Sabha elections, CM Mamata Banerjee said she told her party that she doesn't want to continue as CM, but the party rejected her resignation. "Election Commission had taken over state administration for last five months," she added. "I believe EVM setting was done," she alleged.
