Proving all the speculations right, Indian ace Test Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has traded to Delhi Capitals by Kings XI Punjab.
This Tamilnadu Off-spinner got traded to Delhi Capitals for ₹1.5 crores and Karnataka spinner Jagadeesha Suchith. Ashwin will get ₹7.6 crores, his auction value from the IPL 2018 auction.
Ashwin was the captain for the Kings XI Punjab whose co-owner is Preethi Zinta. However, he failed in both seasons to lead his team to play-offs. They finished seventh in 2018 and sixth in 2019.
Suchith has signed by Delhi Capitals as a replacement in IPL 2019 at his base price of ₹20 lakh. IPL transfer window closes on November 14. The two clubs will now have to wait for the consent of the IPL Governing Council on the deal.
"It was a pleasure working with Ashwin. We enjoyed our time with him and I wish him all the best," Kings XI Punjab co-owner, Ness Wadia, quoted as saying by Sportstar. "All the parties are happy. We wanted to get a spinner on board and we are happy to have Suchith with us," Wadia said.
