Saffron wave to sweep Maharashtra again?

After the mass general body polls and Lok Sabha polls happened in April-May this year. The whole country is ready to witness the general body elections in one of the bigger states in the country, Maharashtra. As in other states, Maharashtra’s politics has defined by the rise of the BJP (along with Shiv Sena) at the expense of Congress (with NCP).

A broad-based social coalition weakened the opposition, and pro-incumbency may help the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance win back power in the upcoming elections. It seems like the BJP-Shivsena coalition is not going to have any sought of trouble with the result.

For the last 20 years, Maharashtra's elections have immediately followed the national elections. The party securing the most votes in the national elections usually repeats that performance in the state elections. Except in 1999, a BJP national win followed by a Congress-NCP alliance in the state.

Even in the 2017 Zilla Parishad elections and the municipal corporation elections, the BJP secured the most seats. More than even the regional parties, Shiv Sena and the NCP. That is what the impact created by Modi & Co all over the country.
