Tamil Nadu government is often considered as the people’s government for their kind of policies and decisions to enhance their people’s quality of life. They take some bold decisions in their educational system.
They gave more importance to Tamil than Hindi in their state, and this has been the case for years between them and the central government. Amidst all this now, the TN government took a crucial step in their educational system.
Students who will appear for the Class 10, 11 and 12 Tamil Nadu board examinations in March and April 2020 will get half an hour extra to complete their exams. The students will now get three hours to write the exams and 10 minutes for reading the question paper. Meanwhile, five minutes allotted for verifying students’ particulars.
The exams for these students will start at 10 am and end at 1.15 pm. At present students writing class 10 board exams in Tamil Nadu have allocated 2.5 hours and 15-minute reading time for question papers, while students of classes 11 and 12 have 2.5 hours for each paper.
This is the latest announcement by the state school education department in an attempt to spruce up the standard of school education. The increase in the exam time comes as the latest in a slew of measures adopted by the Tamil Nadu School Education Department to improve the quality of students graduating out of the systems and make them capable of tackling competitive entrance exams like the NEET and IIT-JEE.
