Terrorists opened fire on CRPF personnel deployed at school which was serving as a Class 10 board examination centre in Drabgam in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
CRPF and local police got deployed to guard the centre. The surrounding area got cordoned off, while no injuries reported so far. The unidentified terrorists fired six-seven rounds on the troops deployed at a school, serving as an examination centre in Drabgam.
The center was being guarded by the CRPF and the local police. The attack had retaliated by troops; additional deployment has reached the spot, and they launched search operations, sources said.
The attack comes on a day 23 European Union MPs are visiting. These MPs met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Monday.
This is the first such international visit to the state nearly two months after the government ended special status to Jammu and Kashmir and enforced major security restrictions and a communication lockdown to avoid any clashes or violence.
