Amid the power-sharing tussle in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena attacked its former ally BJP in an editorial in its mouthpiece Saamana. The editorial said, "It's the beginning of the end of politics of arrogance. We promise you, we will uproot you one day as you have challenged us." Sena also attacked BJP for announcing its ouster from NDA without any meeting.
After the seating arrangements of two Shiv Sena MPs had changed to the Opposition side in Rajya Sabha, Shiv Sena went down heavily on the ruling party at Centre asked, "Who decided our sitting arrangement when there was no meeting of NDA held for the same?" It added, "The heads of the party (BJP) today would've been kids when Sena supported BJP to form NDA."
In reply, Senior BJP leader Madhav Bhandari on Tuesday said, "It appears to me that the Congress-NCP is still undecided on extending support to the Shiv Sena for government formation in Maharashtra." A BJP functionary added, "(Sena chief Uddhav) Thackeray is being made to run helter-skelter." Earlier, NCP chief Sharad Pawar held separate meetings with Sonia Gandhi and Sena leader Sanjay Raut.
