With the soaring prices of the Onions in some parts of the country, they have become the prime necessity for the people to steal. Anyhow, they haven’t stolen in hundreds or thousands but in the quantity that worth lakhs.
Amid reports of onion prices rising across the country, a man in Bihar’s Fatuha has filed a police complaint. Alleging that 328 bags of onions worth ₹8 lakh stolen from his godown. Around ₹1.73 they also stole lakh cash and a TV from the premises, he claimed. Meanwhile, the man said he had insured the goods in his godown.
“At around 6 in the morning, I came to know that the door of my godown got broken. And approximately Rs 8 lakh worth of onions kept in 328 bags, cash of Rs 1 lakh 73 thousand and a television set kept in the godown got stolen,” said Kumar.
In another incident, a farmer in Nashik district has complained that his stock of onions worth around ₹1 lakh got stolen by unidentified persons. The Maharashtra Police said on Tuesday. Based on his complaint, a case of theft has registered and a search is on for his stock in local markets and in neighbouring Gujarat.
